Custom transformer and inductor RFQ checklist
Prepare application, electrical specifications, drawings, quantities and delivery needs for a magnetic component sourcing inquiry.
1. Product and application
Identify the component type and end application. State whether this is a new custom design, a replacement part or a second-source request.
2. Technical information
Provide the available drawing or datasheet, key electrical parameters, inductance or turns ratio, rated current, operating frequency and isolation requirements. Include dimensions, mounting type and operating temperature range. Mark unknown values as to be confirmed.
3. Quality requirements
List the safety or certification requirements requested for your project, including the exact standard or customer specification when available. These are requirements to clarify, not a claim that a component or supplier is already certified.
4. Quantities and timing
Separate sample quantity, expected quantity per production lot and estimated annual usage. Include the sample-needed date, intended production start and a target unit price if available.
5. Existing sourcing situation
If relevant, describe the issue you want to resolve: price, lead time, quality, communication or minimum order quantity. Information about an existing supplier is optional.
Can I inquire without a complete drawing?
Yes. Send the information you have and identify what remains undecided. Missing requirements need clarification before a production quote can be finalized.
Can an app design report be used?
Include an available design report as supporting input, together with the intended application and purchasing requirements. A calculated design result is not a sample test result or a production acceptance record.
Ready to send?
Check that the drawing and report versions agree, distinguish confirmed values from estimates, and include a contact name and email. This is an inquiry preparation guide, not a customer production case study.
